The Master's in Public Administration is a two year program, heavily focused on the practical applications of management and policy. Students get the opportunity to look at a broad array of things that they're interested in. We offer several concentrations, International Management, Public Policy, Environmental Policy, Urban Policy. But the really cool thing is that we are able to offer students the opportunity to build their own concentration. Many of our students are working-- they're either in internships or fellowships during the day. So we leave the workday open, classes are afterwards. We have different team projects throughout the course of the semester that give them an opportunity to work together, exercise and develop those leadership skills. But we also have opportunities with traditional coursework and various seminars that are tied to leadership and development throughout the time that they're here. So they get it both informally, but they also get it as part of the curriculum, if they choose. We have a ton of graduates including the mayor of DC, who are graduates of the programs. We have a lot of alums out there that are always looking back to help. Coming out of this program, you've got a pre-established network already there for you to be able to reach out and you're going to be connecting with them anyway while you're in the program. So that's one advantage. Obviously, the ranking is a huge advantage. You know, when you look at a program that's ranked number four in the country, you look around here and know we're really close. So it's a well-known program. I think when you put American University on your resume, coming out of the school, it turns some heads and that's very important in the job market.
